On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with specialist competence in firewalls. About the role

In the role of Network Engineer, you will work closely with architects and other technical specialists to design, implement, and further develop network and security solutions. You are responsible for ensuring that the solutions meet the business's requirements and comply with current security standards and guidelines.

You will become an important part of a technical team where security, quality, and collaboration are in focus.

Main responsibilities

• Install and configure firewalls and security solutions.
• Monitor and maintain network performance and security.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot network issues and handle security incidents.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to optimize network solutions.
• Conduct risk analyses and vulnerability assessments.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest and several years of experience working with firewalls and network security. You are solution-oriented, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

You thrive in an environment where security and quality are central parts of the operations and have good ability to communicate technical solutions to different audiences.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role, we see that you have:

• Relevant education in IT, network technology, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience working with firewalls.
• Experience with firewall platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto.
• Good knowledge of network protocols and network topologies.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Very good problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.

We are looking for a senior-level consultant with at least 4–8 years of experience in the field and deep competence in network security and firewall solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Certifications in networking and security.
• Experience from complex IT environments and security-critical operations.

Additional information

Location: Malmö

This is a fixed-term employment with NXT Interim Malmö AB for the period August 2026 - July 2027 with a possible extension. We apply collective agreements. The position is subject to security clearance requirements according to current security protection regulations. This means requirements for approved background checks and in some cases special citizenship requirements.
