Your upcoming role

As an Operations Technician, your work will focus on treatment processes and operations at one of Sweden's largest wastewater treatment plants, Sjölunda, which is facing several major investments in the coming years. The responsibilities of the Operations Technician include:

• Monitoring the various functions and processes of the facilities, a task carried out both through our control system and on-site at the plant.
• Ensuring that faults and problems arising in operations are addressed.
• Reporting in the maintenance system IDUS.
• Working with VA SYD's programs for continuous improvements, quality enhancements, and instructions.
• Process optimization and follow-up.
• Contributing to the development of the unit's working methods.
• Working together with your colleagues, although individual work is also part of the role.
• On-call duties may apply, with a response time of max one hour.

Our normal working hours are 07:00–15:30, but you will have some flexibility to adjust your hours within the flextime framework. As an Operations Technician, you will have the opportunity to participate in the development and introduction of new technology together with colleagues. You will be able to influence both the work and your own competence development. If there is a need, competence development through our industry organization, Svenskt Vatten, will be offered. Other opportunities such as project work will also be available to help you grow in the role.

The team at Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant consists of nine operations technicians, two operations engineers, one plant engineer, and one process technician. The group is part of VA SYD's Production Department. The department is responsible for our production facilities for wastewater treatment and biogas. In total, we have approximately 125 employees organized into the units; Wastewater Treatment, Maintenance, Process & Development, Receiving, and the Laboratory.

Your experience

We are looking for you who have:

• Post-secondary education as an Operations Technician or equivalent.
• Category B driver's license.
• Good computer and system skills.
• Experience working with process control systems and maintenance systems.
• Work experience from either water and wastewater operations, process industry, or equivalent is considered meritorious.
