We are now looking for employees for the Investment Programme Unit at the Department for Food and Drinking Water Supply to develop financial support.

Why the Swedish Food Agency?

As the sectoral authority, the Swedish Food Agency leads the work of coordinating measures before and during peacetime crisis situations and heightened readiness in the readiness sector Food Supply and Drinking Water. The readiness sector includes the Swedish Food Agency, the County Administrative Boards, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and the National Veterinary Institute. Cooperation between the authorities in the readiness sector is characterized by great commitment and a desire to build Sweden's readiness together.

The Investment Programme Unit

The unit is located at the Department for Food and Drinking Water Supply and works to establish and coordinate an investment programme aimed at raising the civil preparedness for actors within the food supply and drinking water sector. The investment programme includes support and other measures to increase the capacity of actors such as municipalities, regions, and businesses.

Your Role

You will have the opportunity to work within the entire unit's area of responsibility, focusing on developing financial support within the investment programme to enhance the capacity of actors active in the food supply and drinking water sector. You will be part of a team whose way of working is characterized by collaboration, responsibility, and commitment.

Together with other employees, you are expected to design various types of financial support for both public actors and companies active in the food and drinking water sector. The tasks include developing conditions and selection criteria for the support. It may also become relevant to review incoming applications before decisions are made.

The area is under development, which means the nature of the work may change over time. The work requires the ability to move between strategic, investigative, and operational tasks. To succeed in the role, you need the ability to compile, analyze, and keep together information about the support and follow the support management process. Daily work involves contact and collaboration both within the authority and with external actors to drive the work forward. Collaboration with businesses, municipalities, and regions will be required in many parts. The provision of expertise and support occurs both orally and in writing.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic education that the employer deems relevant, for example in political science, law, economics, or agronomy. You need to have experience from working with financial support, for example through development, review, or audit of financial support, and have previously worked in the public sector. Experience in accounting or auditing is meritorious. It is a plus if you are well acquainted with the conditions for operations within the food supply and drinking water sector. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of or experience with the Swedish preparedness system, supply preparedness, and continuity management.

You must have very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English.

Your Personal Attributes

As a person, we are looking for you who are solution-oriented and can handle uncertainties in a positive way. Good ability to work independently and lead, plan, and execute assignments is required. To function in the role, lack of pretension and the ability to understand the target group's needs are required. The ability to work effectively in a team with other employees, experts, and external competence is important, as is good communication skills.

The unit is active in various assignments that are ongoing simultaneously, and it is important that you can handle this through the ability to focus and reprioritize. It is also important to be able to work towards deadlines while being thorough and following routines and instructions.

Employment type: Permanent. Full-time. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

Location: Uppsala

This position is classified for security clearance, and Swedish citizenship is therefore a requirement for employment. A security investigation with register check will be conducted in accordance with current security protection legislation.

All permanent staff at the Swedish Food Agency are war-placed within the authority.
