Tinsmith & Body Technician with Mechanical Skills for Gimo

Are you a pro at sheet metal, plastic, and paint, while also having a solid grasp of mechanics? Do you want a responsible role where you keep our modern bus fleet in top condition?

To our workshop in Gimo, we are now looking for a skilled Tinsmith / Painter who wants to take overall responsibility for our vehicles. Our fleet consists of modern buses from Mercedes and Setra, and we need someone with an eye for detail who can restore damage to new condition.

About the role

As our body specialist, you will primarily work with repairs to sheet metal and plastic, as well as painting. What makes this role unique with us is the breadth; in addition to bodywork, you will also perform servicing, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs in consultation with the vehicle manager and traffic control.

The bus industry is characterized by a high tempo and quick turnaround times. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and feels genuine pride in putting their quality stamp on every job completed.

Your main responsibilities:

• Bodywork & Painting: Repairing sheet metal and plastic damage, as well as sanding and painting.
• Mechanics & Service: Performing servicing, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Troubleshooting: Using modern diagnostic tools to identify and fix faults.
• Logistics: Moving and test-driving our buses.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with sheet metal work, plastic repairs, and painting.
• Good knowledge of vehicle technology and mechanics.
• Category D driver's license is a requirement to fully handle our vehicles.
• Good computer skills.

Merits:

• YKB (Professional Competence Certificate).
• AC certificate.
• Experience with high-voltage buses/electric buses.
• Previous experience with Mercedes or Setra.
