We are looking for a Chief Engineer who wants to drive our verification and validation activities within cybersecurity forward. Together with an experienced team, you will create solutions that leave a mark – both today and in the future.
About the role
This is a new position involving significant development and finding solutions to challenges we do not yet even know about. You will collaborate with other Chief Engineers for Verification and Validation (VoV) to develop and contribute to operations that allow us to evaluate the equipment procured in various domains and to enable collaboration.
In this role, you will support and collaborate with various parts of the organization on matters concerning system management and design management, with a focus on cybersecurity. You will analyze requirement documents and system objectives to assess how these affect the development of competencies, verification and validation resources, as well as future investments within the operations.
The work also includes developing strategies for verification and validation, as well as developing relevant design and control documents.
In this position, you will act as an advisor to the operations' managers on overarching issues within the cyber domain. You will also contribute to method and operations development with a focus on modeling, simulation, and the development of working methods and processes within cyber defense.
Furthermore, you will participate in the procurement and development of resources within verification and validation, particularly in modeling and simulation related to cyber defense. The role also involves collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces, other defense authorities, and international actors within capability development and defense-related activities.
The position is located in Linköping. Travel is common in the role, primarily within Sweden.
About you
We are looking for you who are educated in fields such as computer science, systems science, information security, cybersecurity, defense technology, or another relevant area at a minimum master's level. You have extensive experience working with Information Systems Development, digitalization, and method development activities within government agencies. Furthermore, you have extensive experience in developing cybersecurity related to the total defense's needs within complex socio-technical systems.
To succeed in the role, it is necessary that you have advanced knowledge of Information Systems Development and a good understanding of work in complex and safety-critical operations. The position requires that you can express yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have experience from training and capability development regarding cyber capabilities or from verification and validation within defense systems. We view it positively if you have worked with command and support systems in safety-critical environments, as well as having knowledge of other defense authorities' activities and/or experience in risk management and risk assessment within complex technical or safety-critical environments. If you have previous experience within the Swedish Armed Forces' operational and tactical activities, we see this as an advantage.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and are looking for you who enjoy collaborating with other people, have high integrity, and are receptive in meetings with different individuals and operations. You have problem-solving and analytical abilities and can view issues from a holistic perspective to find sustainable and effective solutions.
We also see that you are pedagogical and have the ability to convey your knowledge in a clear and adapted manner to create understanding and engagement within the area of cybersecurity. Furthermore, you are creative, take initiative, and have the ability to plan and organize your work in a structured manner.
