About me:

I am an almost 18-year-old young man living with my mother and younger brother in Gävle. I have personal assistance around the clock, which allows me to live an independent life with my family, friends, hobbies, and day activities.

During the day, I work at a day activity center, and in my free time, I enjoy taking walks, swimming, hanging out with friends, participating in activities, and relaxing in front of the TV. I am an active person who appreciates both social settings and quieter moments at home.

As my assistant, you are an important part of my daily life and enable me to live my life on my own terms.

About the position:

We are now looking for a staff member for a temporary position at 75-80%. The position primarily involves night shifts, but occasional day shifts may occur if needed.

The temporary contract runs until August, with good opportunities for extension for the right person.

We are looking for you who are responsible, flexible, and enjoy working independently during the night. You are confident in your role and have no trouble collaborating when needed.

Administrative requirements:

To be employed, you must present a valid ID, a certificate of personal registration, any documents proving the right to work in Sweden, and an extract from the police record. This can be ordered at www.polisen.se (https://www.polisen.se). Choose the extract titled Work with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

The duties include support in daily life such as:

• Personal care and close personal needs
• Communication in speech and writing
• Household chores such as cleaning and shopping
• Accompanying to activities and leisure interests

Staffing responsibility:

The position also includes an extended responsibility as a staffing coordinator, according to a rotating schedule among the assistants. This means that you will receive calls from colleagues in case of illness and are responsible for solving the staffing. If no one else can step in, you may need to cover the shift yourself. The assignment is compensated separately.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good physical fitness
• Swimming skills and ability to accompany and swim
• Non-smoker during working hours
• Do not use perfume or strongly scented products during work shifts
• Meticulous and has a good sense for details
• Calm, secure, and patient
• Ability to work with respect for self-determination - you assist me in my life
• Enjoy being around children
