Your new workplace

Matfors School is located in the center of the idyllic Matfors area, and our operations cover preschool class to grade nine. The school has approximately 600 students and an after-school center for approximately 170 students. The school has a pleasant work climate where we value good treatment and care for each other. We believe in clear, pedagogical leadership, an accessible learning environment, and differentiated instruction to create the best conditions for student learning. We drive a thoughtful systematic quality work with the goal of preventing pedagogical obstacles in school life and work holistically regarding the student's health and learning.

How you contribute as a teacher

As a teacher, your main task is to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on the school's governing documents. Together with your work team, you drive and develop the pedagogical operations for the benefit of the student at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

We are looking for a teacher with qualifications to teach in the subjects Swedish (SV), Mathematics (MA), English (ENG), as well as Social Studies (SO) in grades 4-6. Your position also includes mentorship duties.

You teach in both your own class and the parallel class in the grade. You teach the subjects mentioned above, thereby gaining the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in these areas. We also try to parallel-teach core subjects to increase the possibility of differentiation. You base your planning and implementation of teaching on the student's individual needs to give every student the best possible learning situation. As a pedagogue, you actively work to strengthen the student's self-esteem socially and emotionally.

You are familiar with and work according to the school's plan against bullying to create safety and study peace. You actively participate in the work team's collegial work, where the work team is the engine for planning, assessment, and school development. You continuously co-plan your teaching with colleagues within your grade and in different subject groups. You participate in and contribute to ongoing professional development, which is conducted based on the school's identified needs. You are an important part of and actively contribute to the school's systematic quality work.

This position is a temporary substitute role, with the possibility of extension.

Your competence and experience

We are primarily looking for you who have qualifications for teaching in grades 4-6 in the subjects mentioned above. You are also welcome to apply if you have other, equivalent pedagogical education.

You show great commitment to the school's operations and have a good ability to plan thoughtful and differentiated teaching. You are keen on developing teaching so that it becomes accessible to all students.

You have the ability to see and strengthen the positive aspects in students. You are flexible and confident in yourself. You have good cooperation skills, are solution-focused, see opportunities instead of obstacles, take initiative, and create good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
