About the role

In the role of Lead Engineer within the Unit for Engineering Technology, your main task is to act as Coordinating Technical Support in overhead line infrastructure projects. The primary purpose of the Coordinating Technical Support role is to coordinate the knowledge of our technical specialists and, in the client role, to convey a unified view in our work with external parties. This role is relatively new at Svenska Kraftnät and has emerged in connection with the increased investment pace. In this role, you contribute with strategic technical decisions within the projects and act as a link between the business package, program, or main project where you operate, and the underlying projects.

There will be good opportunities to participate in developing the role. You will also have the opportunity to act as support for junior colleagues and contribute to business development work in line with your interests.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• Organize, coordinate, and support technical support in underlying projects.
• Coordinate technical issues with contractors and designers to utilize the same technical solutions across multiple projects.
• Coordinate technical issues to be handled by specialists, e.g., within electric and magnetic fields (EMF), grounding, construction, or geotechnics and foundations.
• Drive common technical issues and experience feedback between projects and between projects and line operations.
• Drive and/or contribute to business development work in line with the section's needs and your interests.
• Drive forums for experience feedback.

Svenska Kraftnät is facing a significant increase in investment in the coming years, and the entire organization faces the challenge of streamlining working methods to ensure that projects are carried out with high quality. As a Lead Engineer, you play a key role in this work, as there are many innovative solutions to drive through together with contractors, project managers, and designers. The Unit for Engineering Technology is part of the Section for Overhead Line Project Technology, where 25 people work as technical support. The role of the technical support is to support the projects in technical and design-related questions. The section manages TR15-01 and -02. The majority of employees are based in Stockholm, but also in Gothenburg and Sundsvall.

About you

Requirements:

At the same time, you are good at planning and structuring your work, and you handle changes and setbacks in a calm and constructive manner so that projects can move forward.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We are looking for you who have a university degree in engineering, e.g., electrical power, energy technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, road and water, construction, or equivalent education/competence acquired in another way that the authority deems equivalent.

Furthermore, you have:

• At least five years of work experience with overhead line design at the regional and/or transmission network level.
• Worked in overhead line projects during the contract phase.
• Experience in coordinating/leading technical work within projects.
• Ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience with pole placement tools such as ICEtow/PLS-CADD.
• Experience working as technical support in a client organization for grid owners.
• Knowledge of materials (steel, concrete, wood, composite, etc.) and/or components (cables, cable accessories).
• Experience in electrical design, e.g., within grounding, electric and magnetic fields (EMF), and/or induction.
• Knowledge of contract law.

• The position is a permanent employment with workplace in Sundbyberg, Gothenburg, Västerås, Sundsvall, Sollefteå, or Luleå.
• Opportunity for remote work up to 50%.
• Domestic travel occurs in this position.
