The Food and Premises Care Unit belongs to the Child and Education Administration. The administration has approximately 800 employees, and the operations extend across the entire municipality, including preschools, primary schools (grades F-9), adapted primary schools, after-school centers, food and premises care, mother tongue instruction, and library services.

Approximately 80 employees work at the food unit. The food unit operates meal services at preschools, schools, special housing facilities, as well as providing meal boxes for home care services.

The municipality has 38 production and reception kitchens where a total of approximately 3,500 portions are produced every day.

Ås School is a primary school (grades F-9) with 470 children. The kitchen is a preparation kitchen. Breakfast and snacks are also served at the school. The kitchen team consists of 2 chefs and 3 economic assistants.

A day as an Economic Assistant at Ås School

Together with your colleagues, you are part of the daily production and associated tasks, such as serving lunch, preparing salads, and other accompaniments. Washing dishes and cleaning are also part of your duties.

You recognize the importance of close and good cooperation with the school's staff and have a focus on the children's well-being.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed a 3-year upper secondary education in hospitality and catering, or have equivalent experience in similar tasks.

Requirements for good Swedish skills in speech and writing.

Good computer skills are meritorious.

As a person, you are flexible, self-reliant, meticulous, and positive. You have an easy time collaborating and have a solution-oriented approach to work. With a strong service spirit, great engagement, and good communication, you always put the children at the center. We place great importance on your personal suitability and your ability to work with others.

Permanent part-time position, 50%, with start date according to agreement.

Working hours are during daytime Monday to Friday.

To work in schools and preschools, a clean certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (extract from the criminal record register) for work in schools or preschools is required. The extract must have been issued less than a year ago. More information is available at www.polisen.se.
