Do you want to lead and develop a national operation where business benefits, environmental responsibility, and societal development go hand in hand?

We are now looking for a Director and Head of Road & Rail Sweden Environment with overall responsibility for approximately 230 employees across Sweden. In this role, you have strategic overall responsibility for leadership, business, and development within the environment and sustainability area. You lead through other managers and play a central role in strengthening and further developing AFRY's position as a leading advisor in sustainable societal development.

AFRY's environment and sustainability services help customers in the public sector, industry, and energy to meet increasing demands for resource efficiency, environmental responsibility, and climate transition. Our competence spans environmental impact assessments, permitting processes, sustainability strategies, climate and life cycle calculations, EHS, as well as land and nature issues and circular economy.

In the role, you are responsible for leading and developing employees across Sweden by creating engagement, building trust, and establishing a culture where competence, collaboration, and continuous development are at the center. You drive the business by creating and managing long-term customer relationships and ensuring sustainable profitability in a qualified consultancy business. At the same time, you set a clear direction for quality and sustainability by strengthening working methods, collaboration, and the organization's combined delivery capacity within the environment and sustainability area.

You will preferably be based at one of our larger offices.

Qualifications

You are an experienced and confident leader with a background in urban planning, environmental, and sustainability issues, for example as a consultant, client, or in other relevant operations. You are accustomed to leading through other managers and have a good understanding of how to develop a business-oriented, value-driven, and knowledge-intensive organization.

You are strategic and business-driven with the ability to see the big picture and drive long-term development. You work close to the customer and are skilled at building strong, trust-based relationships at the management level. At the same time, you are an engaging and inclusive leader who stands for clear, modern leadership where people and collaboration are in focus.

You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
