About Us

In Sörmland, all dietitians are organized in a dietitian organization belonging to the regional clinic Paramedicin Sörmland. Currently, there are approximately 45 dietitian colleagues in Sörmland. The primary care unit and the specialist care unit collaborate closely, which means there are opportunities to change your role over time if desired.

The task of primary care dietitians is to care for patients of various ages referred to us by the county's 31 primary health care centers. The reception work takes place at the health center, and you work closely with the other professions at the health center, which promotes collaboration around the patients. Depending on the size of the health center, a dietitian has a full-time position at a large health center or a shared position at two smaller health centers. In Sörmland, we have a well-developed network of dietitian colleagues who meet regularly, have a great community, and are never further away than a Teams link or a phone call.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join the primary care team in western Sörmland, i.e., Katrineholm and surrounding areas. You will have assignments at the health centers in Flen and Malmköping, but there is also the possibility to base yourself from Katrineholm. If you are new to the professional role of a dietitian, there is an opportunity for introduction and supervision by experienced dietitian colleagues.

Your Responsibilities

Our work is based on evidence-based guidelines and an ethical code of conduct. We work according to the nutritional treatment process, which means assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of nutrition-related problems, as well as documentation according to NCP (Nutrition Care Process). The work also includes assessing the need for and prescribing dietary supplements.

The work is varied, and you will meet patients of different ages. Patient contacts can take place individually at the clinic, via remote visits, or as group education for patients with diagnoses such as IBS and diabetes. The dietitian can be part of a team with other professions at the health center in cases of lifestyle-related diagnoses. Training for health center staff and collaboration with child health services are part of the assignment, as is cooperation with personnel in municipal home care regarding patients with nutrition problems.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are a licensed dietitian, preferably with experience working in primary care. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is required in both speech and writing.

You should have an interest in working with the whole picture of the patient together with other professional categories, while providing nutritional expertise. You are structured and self-reliant, and have good collaboration skills.

Digital communication technology is used frequently, for example, for video visits, which means you need to have an interest in this and a willingness to learn new things if you are not already familiar with it.

Since travel may occur in the role, a B-driving license is desirable.
