In Sörmland, all dietitians are organized within a dietitian organization belonging to the regional clinic Paramedicin Sörmland. Currently, there are approximately 45 dietitian colleagues in Sörmland. The primary care unit and the specialist care unit collaborate closely, offering opportunities to change your role over time if desired.

The role of primary care dietitians is to care for patients of various ages referred to us by the county's 31 health centers. Patient consultations take place at the health centers, working closely with other professions, which promotes collaboration around patient care. Depending on the size of the health center, a dietitian may have a full-time position at a large center or a shared role across two smaller centers. In Sörmland, we have a well-developed network of dietitian colleagues who meet regularly, enjoy a strong sense of community, and are never further away than a team meeting or a phone call.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join the primary care team in western Sörmland, i.e., Katrineholm and surrounding areas. You will have assignments at the health centers in Flen and Malmköping, with the possibility of basing your work from Katrineholm. If you are new to the role of a dietitian, there are opportunities for introduction and supervision by experienced colleagues.

Your Responsibilities

Our work is based on evidence-based guidelines and an ethical code. We work according to the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), which involves assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of nutrition-related problems, as well as documentation according to NCP standards. The role also includes assessing the need for and prescribing dietary supplements.

The work is varied, and you will interact with patients of all ages. Patient contacts can take place individually at the clinic, via remote consultations, or in group sessions for patients with diagnoses such as IBS and diabetes. The dietitian may be part of a team with other professions at the health center, particularly for lifestyle-related diagnoses. The role also includes educating health center staff, collaborating with child health services, and coordinating with municipal home care staff regarding patients with nutrition issues.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a registered dietitian, preferably with experience in primary care. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. You should have an interest in working holistically with patients alongside other professional groups, providing your expertise in nutrition. You are structured, self-motivated, and have strong collaborative skills.

Digital communication tools are used frequently, for example, for video consultations. Therefore, you should have an interest in this technology and a willingness to learn if you are not already familiar with it. Since travel may be required for the role, a B-class driver's license is desirable. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and flexibility.
