Do you want to help shape the meals of the future?

We are looking for a Head Chef who wants to lead our production kitchen in Kärna into the future. You will be part of a dynamic team of head chefs. If you are passionate about sustainable cooking, efficiency, and new technological solutions in the kitchen, this is a job for you!

Kungälv Municipality is known for its beautiful nature, with proximity to forests and the sea, as well as picturesque old town districts. It takes approximately 25 minutes by bus/train from Gothenburg.

Kungälv Meal Service has 11 production kitchens that produce around 9,000 portions daily.

We deliver lunches to preschools, schools, and elderly care facilities throughout the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a Head Chef, you are responsible for ensuring quality and delivery according to economic frameworks, agreements, routines, and policies. You will be part of a team of head chefs who lead our meal service forward.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Being actively involved in production on a daily basis.
• Administrative tasks requiring structured work, planning, and follow-up.
• Acting as an extension of the unit manager in operational matters.
• Driving the development of the business to meet future challenges in digitalization, sustainable food production, and staffing.
• Working with continuous improvements and development of our meals.
• Focusing on service and customer handling to ensure good delivery to our clients, diners, and receiving kitchens.
• Improving workflows through smart use of technology and digital tools to optimize both quality and efficiency.
• Leading and motivating your team of cooks and meal assistants.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Trained chef with at least 5 years of documented work experience, or trained head chef with equivalent experience.
• Good computer skills and the ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish.

Merits:

• Experience as a head chef in the public and/or private sector.
• Experience with diet data systems such as Mashie, Matilda, and Hantera.
• Experience with large-scale kitchen production.
• An interest and ability to use new digital tools to streamline workflows.
• Category B driver's license and access to a car.

The work is primarily scheduled during daytime hours on weekdays, excluding holidays.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
