Do you have technical education and competence in systems engineering, data, or telecommunications systems? Do you want to contribute to making Sweden and the world safer? Then you might be the person we are looking for. Here, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge where it truly makes a difference – in the work of developing and maintaining data and telecommunications functions in fortification-protected infrastructure for the Swedish Armed Forces wartime organization.
About the role
As a systems engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ensuring the delivery of the Swedish Armed Forces' commissioned production within the acquisition and maintenance of protected infrastructure, with a focus on technical installations and integration that enable the requested functions. The assignment covers the entire chain – from preliminary studies to design, installation, and the creation of maintenance plans. Deliveries are made in close cooperation with the Fortification Agency and according to the Swedish Armed Forces' established schedules.
Furthermore, you will be part of a knowledge-intensive team that, through your various competencies, contributes to a robust and secure data and telecommunications infrastructure. The work offers great opportunities for continued competence development within the framework of the systems engineering tasks that the unit is responsible for. As an engineer, you participate in the work of describing how materiel systems and technical systems should be installed and integrated into the data and telecommunications infrastructure. You participate in defining the requirements for the systems and technical installations covered, ensure well-formulated system specifications, and make necessary trade-offs between different requirements to optimize function, operational effectiveness, time, and economy.
The role also includes developing and updating design guidelines, installation and design rules, and contributing data and telecommunications competence to the unit's overarching systems engineering work.
The position is located in Stockholm and involves very limited opportunities for remote work. Business travel occurs.
About you
We are looking for you who have an education as a civil/college engineer in computer technology, telecommunications, technical design, electrical engineering, systems science, or have equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as comparable. The position requires a B driver's license as well as good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Knowledge of systems design within data or telecommunications is meritorious. Also, knowledge of methods/standards for systems engineering (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288). We see it as an advantage if you have experience in technical systems engineering or systems engineering for data or telecommunications solutions. Education in project management or systems design is desirable but not a requirement.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and are looking for you who are self-reliant and responsible with a good ability to structure your work in a way that drives processes forward. You find it easy to collaborate with others, and in a listening manner, you handle challenging situations in a constructive way. Furthermore, you are flexible and see opportunities in changes, can quickly adapt both perspective and working methods when conditions change. You are loyal to the assignment and organization and act in line with made decisions. The operations place high demands on security and confidentiality, which requires good judgment, high security awareness, and good problem-solving analytical skills. You have the ability to tackle complex issues, break down problems into manageable parts, and find well-founded solutions.
