Do you have a technical education and experience, with competence in complex environments where several technical systems must contribute to the overall capability on site? Do you want to contribute to making Sweden and the world safer? Then you may be the one we are looking for. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge where it truly makes a difference – in the work with developing and maintaining fortification-protected infrastructure for the Swedish Armed Forces wartime organization.

About the position

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a central role in ensuring the delivery of the Swedish Armed Forces' commissioned production within the procurement and maintenance of protected infrastructure, with a focus on technical installations and integration that enable the requested functions. The assignment covers the entire chain – from preliminary studies to design, installation, and the creation of maintenance plans. Deliveries are made in close collaboration with the Swedish Fortification Agency and according to the Swedish Armed Forces' established schedules.

Furthermore, you will be part of a knowledge-intensive team that, through your various competencies, contributes to a robust and secure data and telecommunications infrastructure. As a Systems Engineer, you lead and participate in the work of describing how materiel systems and technical systems should be installed and integrated into the data and telecommunications infrastructure. You are responsible for the overall requirements picture within the data and telecommunications area, ensure well-formulated system specifications, and make necessary trade-offs between the requirements of different technical areas to optimize function, operational effectiveness, time, and economy.

The role also involves developing and updating design guidelines, installation and design rules, and contributing data and telecommunications competence to the unit's overarching systems work.

The position is located in Stockholm and involves very limited opportunities for remote work. Business travel occurs.

About you

We are looking for you who have an education as a civil engineer or university engineer in computer technology, telecommunications, technical design, electrical engineering, systems science, or have equivalent competence acquired in other ways that we assess as comparable. You have current and relevant experience of working with both the design of complex systems within data or telecommunications and systems of systems. Also, experience in leading technical systems work and systems work for data or telecommunications solutions. The position requires a B driver's license as well as good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.

Meritorious is current and relevant experience of project management or design work. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of methods/standards for systems work (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288) or training in system design. Also, good knowledge in business modeling. Desirable but not a requirement is current and relevant experience of working in a business with high demands on integrity and security awareness.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and are looking for you who are self-reliant and responsible with a good ability to structure your work in a way that drives processes forward. You have an easy time collaborating with others, and in a listening manner, you handle challenging situations in a constructive way. Furthermore, you are flexible and see opportunities in changes, can quickly adapt both perspective and working methods when conditions change. You are loyal to the mission and organization and act in line with decisions made. The operations place high demands on security and confidentiality, which places demands on good judgment, high security awareness, and good problem-solving analytical ability. You have the ability to tackle complex issues, break down problems into manageable parts, and find well-founded solutions.
