Welcome to Children and Youth!

We now wish to strengthen the department by appointing a new position to our Strengthening Team. The Strengthening Team currently consists of two social secretaries who act as flexible resources and can step in where the need is greatest, for example during high workloads or temporary absences.

The Children and Youth department is responsible for handling cases concerning children and young people aged 0–21. The operations consist of several groups with different focus areas: reception group, investigation and intervention, foster care group, and family law.

We are two department managers and four team leaders who, together with social secretaries and administrators, create a secure and competent work group. Here, there is strong cohesion, collegial support, and clear structures that provide good conditions for professional and legally secure work.

As a new social secretary with us, you are offered an introduction and training adapted to your needs, giving you the tools you need for the job and the opportunity to grow into the role. We have continuous external supervision and regular case reviews. All employees in the department are part of "Yrkesresan" (The Professional Journey), an initiative to strengthen induction and competence development.

We at the Children and Youth department value a good balance between work and leisure. Therefore, we currently offer reduced working hours, meaning a full-time work week is 35 hours with maintained salary. We also offer annualized working hours, holiday exchange, wellness benefits, and the possibility to agree on remote work.

Job Responsibilities

As a social secretary in the Strengthening Team, you strengthen the operations with your competence and engagement. You step in for temporary needs within Children and Youth and contribute with your security and experience.

The assignments vary in length from a few weeks to a few months and may include:

• Investigations for children and young people
• Follow-up of granted interventions
• Work within reception
• Work within foster care
• Work within family law

You work according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and other relevant legislation, and receive close support from colleagues, team leaders, and managers. Our administrators are also available to relieve you in daily work.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a social worker with at least five years of experience in authority operations and case handling within Children and Youth. You have good knowledge of LVU, SoL, and BBIC, very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, and good computer skills.

You treat children, families, and partners professionally and respectfully, and have an easy time building trusting relationships. Your working style is independent, structured, and receptive, and you thrive in collaboration.

Since the position involves shorter assignments in different operations, we see that you have drive, can quickly adapt to new environments, and are both solution-focused and flexible. Experience with Signs of Safety and Treserva is meritorious, and great importance is placed on personal suitability.
