Selfhelp is a treatment facility with specialized competence located in Norrala, just outside Söderhamn. Here, therapists, nurses, doctors, and treatment staff work with issues related to substance abuse/addiction, criminality, and mental health.
Our clients come from Social Services, Probation, and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
Our treatment approaches are CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and the 12-Step program.
About the role of Social/Treatment PedagogueWe work with dedication in everything concerning our clients. Meeting people in crisis and/or with difficult life situations is common, and it is very important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and treat people in a respectful manner. Together, you perform practical tasks in daily life, such as training in everyday skills. As a social/treatment pedagogue, you assist in contacts with authorities, doctors, and landlords.
Main responsibilities:- Intake of new clients
- Documentation
- Maintaining rules and routines
- Conducting activities
You are relationship-building and have a good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You are calm, stable, and can maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You have good collaboration skills, relate to others in a listening manner, and enjoy working with others. You are an independent, humble, and responsible person who is passionate about care work and can see the individual's needs.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:- Education as a social pedagogue or 400 YHP treatment pedagogue, or ongoing education in the field.
- Competence in mentalization theory.
- Category B driver's license (required)
- Experience from HVB (Hem för vård eller boende - Home for care or housing)
- Experience from psychiatry
- Experience working with substance abuse issues
- Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- Studies at equivalent YH (University College) or university level
