Our operations

The Business Area Usage is responsible for providing knowledge about medicines to both healthcare and the general public, as well as publishing decision support for the appropriate, safe, and rational use of products within the Swedish Medical Products Agency's area of responsibility. The Unit for Pharmacoeidemiology and Analysis is multidisciplinary, focusing on the analysis of drug safety and efficacy, method development, and analysis of drug utilization.

Your responsibilities

Your main task as a statistician in the unit is to contribute to the Agency's implementation of its own pharmacoepidemiological studies. This involves performing data processing and statistical analysis related to pharmacoepidemiology in large population-based databases with health data. The unit may also be responsible for planning and coordinating external epidemiological projects. Pharmacoeidemiological method development based on the Agency's area of responsibility is also part of the work.

You will work in close collaboration with scientifically qualified colleagues within the unit. The work is independent and developmental, carried out in close cooperation with clinical expertise in an interdisciplinary environment.

Your background

You have a university education equivalent to at least a bachelor's degree in statistics/biostatistics/mathematical statistics or similar. You may be relatively newly graduated. You have good knowledge of R and preferably also practical experience in statistical analysis, data processing, and programming. It is an advantage if you have experience with other statistical software, such as data handling in SAS or Stata. The daily work requires that you can express yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

We are looking for you who are analytical, structured, and have a strong interest in programming and problem-solving. You have the ability to solve your work tasks independently and meet deadlines. You communicate clearly and effectively and have the ability to explain your work to others in an understandable way. You thus function well as a natural discussion partner in a team. We value scientific curiosity. You have good teamwork skills, are flexible, and solution-oriented.
