Do you want to contribute to a sustainable society and secure energy supplies in Gothenburg? We are looking for an engaged and solution-oriented alarm engineer who wants to work with monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our PEH alarm systems within the district heating network.

Your role

The PEH alarm system is a monitoring system built into pre-insulated district heating pipes. The system is used to detect moisture ingress, leaks, and damage in the pipe network early on, before major operational disruptions occur. Through rapid troubleshooting and intervention, the risk of corrosion, heat loss, and costly repairs can be reduced, making the system an important part of safe and sustainable district heating distribution.

As an alarm engineer, you are responsible for monitoring and analyzing alarms, locating faults and leaks, and driving the corrective work from initial troubleshooting to completed contracting. The work involves both practical and administrative tasks where you coordinate contractors, manage the economy of assignments, and ensure that the work is documented and followed up in our maintenance system. A large part of the work takes place in the field, in wells and shafts.

This is a job for you who thrives when combining technical troubleshooting in the field with planning, coordinating, and taking responsibility for contracts and follow-up.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Monitor and analyze alarms in the PEH alarm system for district heating.
  • Locate and pinpoint alarm faults, moisture ingress, and leaks.
  • Initiate and order measures via framework agreement contractors.
  • Act as BAS-P in current projects and contracts.
  • Be responsible for the economy and follow-up within assigned assignments.
  • Create work orders and document completed work in the maintenance system.
  • Coordinate and lead maintenance contracts within the district heating network.
  • Participate in and drive work within leak detection and preventive maintenance.
  • Support operations work in our networks as needed.

On-call duty may be included in the position after an introductory period and once you are settled in.

Your team

The position is located with us at the Network unit, one of five units within the Infrastructure department in the Heat and Cooling business area. We are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Göteborg Energi Group's distribution networks for district heating, gas, and district cooling, as well as regulator stations. We also have a limited area with water/sewage networks. On behalf of Göteborg Energi Gasnät AB, inspections of the gas network are also carried out.

Here is how Therese describes what she appreciates in her job as an alarm engineer:

"I feel like I learn new things every day. We work both preventively and reactively, which means we rarely know what awaits. The work involves great variation, and no two days are alike. On the unit, we have very good cohesion; we care about each other, always help out, and tackle all challenges that come our way with great commitment."

You will be part of a team of approximately 15 employees who together work with preventive maintenance and emergency measures on our distribution networks. Your manager will be Christoffer Blom. Here is how Christoffer describes his leadership:

"I think it is important that as a leader, you are straightforward and interested. This creates an open climate where everyone can participate and develop. As long as you are interested and show initiative, you can develop as much as you want. A safe workplace and continuous improvements are highly prioritized in our daily lives. We work as a team and learn from each other. Here, everyone should feel included and appreciated."

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant technical basic education and experience in district heating, energy, water/sewage, electricity, or a similar field. For the position, you need to have a Category B driver's license.

You have experience with:

  • Troubleshooting.
  • Technical maintenance.
  • Documentation in maintenance systems.

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

  • PEH alarm systems.
  • District heating networks.
  • BAS-P/BAS-U.
  • Contract management.
  • Leak detection.
  • Metering technology.

You are accustomed to working independently and driving assignments from start to finish. You have good administrative skills, are structured, and responsible. We work together, so you need to have good collaboration skills. From a security perspective, it is important that you master Swedish in speech and writing, as the majority of our communication and documentation is in Swedish.

Göteborg Energi is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and many of our services are security classified. If this position is security classified, a security clearance check will be conducted before employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
