Do you want to help secure the quality of tomorrow's cars? Do you have a strong background in materials science and a burning interest in corrosion protection? We are now looking for a Design Engineering Analyst (Associate Professional) for an exciting assignment with our client in the automotive industry.

About the Role

In the role of Design Engineering Analyst within the Metallic Materials & Corrosion Protection group, your main task will be to guide the design departments in selecting the right materials and surface treatments for various applications in the car.

You will work through the entire development chain – from early virtual reviews in CAD to field analyses in the aftermarket and close collaboration with the quality department. You ensure that test results, deviations, and reports are delivered on time and with the highest quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analysis & Consulting: Collaborate closely with designers to ensure optimal material selection and surface treatment in early program phases.
  • Laboratory Work: Perform lab tests, chemical analyses, and prepare samples for material and mechanical testing.
  • Vehicle Testing: Contribute to the verification of the complete car test CORCAR, which includes practical work with disassembling parts for corrosion analysis.
  • Virtual Review: Analyze CAD models in early stages to proactively identify and prevent corrosion risks.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who are a customer-focused and driven engineer. You have strong communication skills, thrive in team collaboration, but also have the ability to take the lead and drive your own tasks to completion against set deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: University or college degree in Materials Science, preferably with advanced knowledge of metals and corrosion.
  • Experience: Extensive knowledge in the field of corrosion to make correct engineering assessments and solve complex problems (including for the aftermarket).
  • Technical Competence: Good knowledge of material databases, sample preparation, and virtual analysis in CAD.
  • Automotive Understanding: Good practical and theoretical car knowledge is a requirement, as you are expected to handle components and assist in complete vehicle tests.

What We Offer

We offer a developmental role in a high-tech environment where you get to combine theoretical expertise with practical work. You will become part of an expert team that has a direct influence on the product's quality and lifespan.

Background Check

Mandatory background checks are applied for this position via Levigo (verification of education, work history, as well as identity and citizenship checks).
