About the workplace

The municipalities of Töreboda and Gullspång have decided to collaborate within the environmental and building sector and are in the startup phase of creating a completely new environmental and building operation. The operation is responsible for the municipalities' work with regulatory enforcement in the environmental and building sector, as well as measurement, mapping, GIS, and permitting and supervision of alcohol and tobacco sales. We are now looking for a GIS Engineer who wants to be part of building this new operation!

As a GIS Engineer in Töreboda and Gullspång municipalities, you will have a key role in urban planning and development, with great opportunities to influence the operation and working methods.

Job Responsibilities

As a GIS Engineer, you will be involved in the entire urban planning and development process, from planning to construction and operation/maintenance, and will be responsible for the municipalities' work with measurement, map production, and our GIS systems, among other things. Measurement work is performed using GPS. You will create construction maps and other maps within the urban planning process, produce base maps for detailed plans and property registers, and administer addresses and apartment registers, updating the base map, among other tasks. You are responsible for the municipalities' digital mapping tools and geodata.

In this role, you serve as a specialist resource internally within the organization as well as externally, collaborating with other authorities, municipalities, and construction actors, for example. The role includes training and providing support to the municipality's users of the GIS systems.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated in surveying technology and GIS from a university/college, or alternatively have other education and work experience that the employer deems equivalent. You need to have good knowledge and interest in GIS systems, as well as the ability to handle, process, and develop geographic data and databases. Experience in municipal operations and/or surveying is meritorious. You have a strong interest in computer technology and urban planning.

You have good planning skills and take personal responsibility for your tasks, are structured, and take initiative. You are service-oriented, have good collaboration skills, and possess social competence. We assume that you have good ability to communicate clearly in both speech and writing.

As a GIS Engineer, you can expect a salary between approximately 38,000 – 48,000 SEK depending on experience and competence, with individual salary setting applied.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability when appointing the position.

A B-class driver's license is required.
