Design Engineering Analyst (Associate Professional) – Consulting Assignment

About the Assignment

We are currently looking for a Design Engineering Analyst for a technical consulting assignment with a client in the Gothenburg area.

In this role, you will work with metallurgical analyses and technical evaluations in a laboratory environment. The assignment involves working with various metals such as cast aluminum, extruded aluminum, steel, and cast iron.

You will work both independently and in teams on advanced material analyses, mechanical testing, and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical tests and microstructural analyses in the laboratory
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly
• Support internal teams with technical information and analyses
• Write technical reports and present results
• Contribute to test development, research, and development work depending on experience

Qualifications

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in metallurgy, materials science, or similar
• Knowledge of mechanical testing and material analysis
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English

Experience with

• Microstructural analysis of aluminum and steel
• Casting, casting defects, and failure analysis
• Tensile and bend testing
• Optical microscopy and sample preparation
• SEM/EDS analysis
