Västerås Municipality has removed the cover letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and more fair recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will become an important part of our selection work.

Your responsibilities

You will have a meaningful and active job where you help our customers with personal care and assistance according to their individual needs. This includes supporting and helping with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, household chores, and meals. You handle medication when delegated, document, and report on completed tasks. A key part of your work is to create a safe and positive environment for the people you support and to contribute to social interaction.

You take responsibility for your tasks and always maintain a good attitude regardless of who you meet. You thrive in a varied work environment and are good at listening to our customers' needs and adapting easily to changed circumstances.

Your qualifications

To work as a substitute, you must be 18 years or older. To meet our customers and document your work, you must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. You are familiar with using computers and mobile phones. It is an advantage if you have started or completed education as a nursing assistant or childcare worker. Perhaps you are studying another relevant education, such as nursing, physiotherapy, or behavioral science. Of course, it is a plus if you have experience working in healthcare and social care, but it is not a requirement.

With us, you get the chance to gain experience in elderly care, or in operations for people with disabilities according to LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and Social Psychiatry.

Practical information

• We work during the day, evening, weekends, or night.
• Please submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews take place continuously throughout the application period, and we try to get back to you as soon as possible.
• If you proceed in the recruitment process, it is mandatory to submit a video interview where you answer a short number of interview questions.
• If you are a trained nursing assistant and have proof of a protected professional title, you can attach it to your application.
• If you have been employed by Västerås Municipality in the last year, we always take a reference from the manager you had last.
• If you become a candidate for employment, you must show an extract from your criminal record.
