Widforss and Milrab form Open Air Group's e-commerce division, operating two strong retail concepts within outdoor, hunting, and active lifestyle. The companies offer a range of approximately 25,000 products and generate a turnover of 500 MSEK. In total, the companies have around 60 employees with offices in Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki, as well as a warehouse in Morgongåva. Milrab was founded in 2005 in Norway, while Widforss traces its roots back to 1729. Over the past year, the business has transformed into a pure-play e-commerce player with a focus on a scalable platform, a relevant assortment, and a top-tier customer experience.
About the RoleAs Business Intelligence & Data Lead at Widforss & Milrab, you will have overall responsibility for the company's data platform and BI structure. This role is central to how data is utilized across the entire organization and involves close collaboration with both IT and the business side—specifically marketing, performance, and commercial teams. You will report to the CTO and work closely with developers, product owners, and the marketing manager. The role entails significant ownership, where you are expected to lead how data is structured, quality-assured, and used to drive business decisions. This is a role for you if you want to build something substantial—not just maintain, but create structure, define architecture, and ensure that data actually drives the business. Your main responsibilities include:
- Own and further develop the BI environment (Power BI, data models, reporting structure)
- Design and develop a scalable data warehouse (BigQuery)
- Ensure data quality and that the right data is retrieved from the right sources
- Structure and integrate data from e-commerce, marketing platforms, finance, and warehousing
- Develop dashboards and decision support tools for the entire organization
- Drive structure around data governance and standardization
- Prioritize and specify data requirements for developers
- Identify what needs to be rebuilt versus improved in the existing architecture
To succeed in this role, you have extensive experience in building and managing data solutions, with a strong focus on databases, data modeling, and data integrations. You are accustomed to taking overall responsibility for data projects and thrive in environments where you can make technical decisions and translate business needs into smart, long-term solutions. You have a particular understanding of business data, especially within e-commerce and digital marketing, and can use insights to drive the business forward. You have previously worked in roles with high complexity and many stakeholders, and enjoy combining a strategic perspective with hands-on work regarding architecture, data warehousing, and visualization. You are confident in communicating with various stakeholders. We would like you to have:
- Experience in BI, data engineering, or similar, with a deep understanding of business data, especially in e-commerce and digital marketing
- Experience working closely with business operations and translating needs into data solutions
- Very good skills in SQL and database management
- Experience with data warehouses, preferably BigQuery
- Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools
- Understanding of data integrations and various data sources
- Meritorious: experience with performance marketing data and some experience with scripting (e.g., Python)
As a person, you are analytical, structured, and problem-solving, with the ability to quickly resolve acute challenges while building long-term sustainable solutions. You take responsibility, establish structure, and create engagement around data-driven decisions within the organization.
