To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the opportunity to live as good a life as possible, there are the District Veterinarians (Distriktsveterinärerna). With 24/7 on-call service, clinics across the country, and unique expertise in animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a more secure life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer socially vital services for emergency animal care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always grounded and with heart in the right place. Distriktsveterinärerna is part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

The Fjärdhundra clinic is characterized by dedicated, friendly, and knowledgeable colleagues who together create a good and open work climate. Currently, we consist of 14 veterinarians, three animal care assistants, and one licensed dental hygienist. We strive to be a workplace where everyone thrives, and one of our greatest strengths is our work culture and team spirit.

The clinic is located in Fjärdhundra on the Enköping plain in the heart of Mälardalen and also includes Uppsala. The area is characterized by farmland and the shoreline of Lake Mälaren.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our team, you will have interesting and varied days. Some days you will have scheduled visits, and other days you will work with emergency operations. Our practice is largely characterized by a large and high-quality equine practice (both in the field and at our clinic) involving X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, gastroscopy, and advanced dentistry. Despite the breadth and scope of the equine practice, we also have a significant portion of field practice for cattle, sheep, goats, and other livestock, making this role ideal for you who have a strong interest in all types of large animals. We have a growing small animal practice that includes everything from diagnostics to dental care and surgery.

On-call duty is a natural part of working as a veterinarian with us. We have a well-thought-out scheduling model for on-call duties that gives you ample opportunity for recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a Swedish veterinary license or temporary permission to practice. We see that you are engaged, value good service and customer relationships, and work for the best of the team towards common goals!

Our practice consists of both equine and small animal practice, as well as work with farm animals. Since we largely work with emergency care, a good eye for prioritization and planning is required. The position includes on-call duty for all animal species.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, social competence, and good teamwork skills!

Requirements include a B-driver's license and proficiency in Swedish in both written and spoken language.
