Laboratory Assistant at Västervik Miljö & Energi AB

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant for our water laboratory within the production department. We primarily work with drinking and wastewater, but various sludges are also processed. The laboratory is accredited according to SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and performs analyses of drinking and wastewater according to standards issued by SIS and other recognized institutions. The position is a fixed-term contract from September 2026 to April 2027.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will have varied tasks and work in a tight-knit team with colleagues in the laboratory and other production staff. Competence development is very important to us, and we strive for continuous development and improvement of the operations and its personnel. The laboratory is located just outside Västervik with a nice view, but with poor public transport connections.

General Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will among other things:

• Analyze drinking, raw, and wastewater as well as sludge to ensure compliance with environmental and quality requirements and to optimize the processes of water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Receive samples and register analysis results in the laboratory system.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and sampling devices.
• Participate in deviation and improvement work.

Initially, you will undergo an induction and training program, working alongside experienced staff.

It is important that you can deliver high quality and handle a varying workload. We place great emphasis on personal qualities, and it is a prerequisite for the position that you are interested in natural sciences and technology.

We expect that you, as an applicant, meet at least the following criteria:

• Upper secondary education in natural sciences
• Category B driver's license
• Very good proficiency in Swedish
• Good proficiency in English
• Good computer skills

Employment Details

The position is a full-time fixed-term contract, scheduled during daytime hours Monday–Friday, with the workplace in Västervik.
