Here, you will meet patients with varying needs, ranging from short-term interventions to more long-term medical and treatment measures. Your duties include medication management, psychiatric nursing and assessment, supportive conversations, telephone counseling, and documentation.

Our operations are characterized by a strong patient focus, high quality and safety, as well as close collaboration between different professional groups. We have close and good dialogue between outpatient and inpatient care with short decision-making paths.

About You

You are a registered nurse and enjoy working in a solution-focused manner.

A very good ability to collaborate and create trusting relationships is important in the role. Since you will be working with patients in vulnerable situations, it is required that you have a respectful and professional attitude and can provide patients with a low-affective approach.

As a nurse, you have a leadership role on the ward, which means you need to be good at communicating, be clear, and take initiative in your work. To thrive with us, you need to enjoy varied work, be flexible in your working methods, and have the ability to adapt to changed needs and circumstances.

With commitment and a positive attitude, you contribute together with your colleagues to a good work climate where we all collaborate and help each other.

Previous work experience from psychiatry, treatment homes, correctional services, or similar operations is meritorious.

Your Future Workplace

Ward 24 is a general psychiatric ward where we assess and investigate psychiatric conditions in patients who are in need of inpatient care. You will meet patients with different psychiatric diagnoses, conditions, and needs, which makes the work varied and developmental. The ward also has two care beds for self-selected admission.

Last autumn, we moved into the newly built psychiatric house on the hospital grounds in Västervik, where we have now gathered all adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry in the same building. You will have the opportunity to work in spacious, nice premises with staff areas offering a beautiful view over the town of Västervik.

We are part of the psychiatric administration in Region Kalmar County. Within the administration, a total of 600 employees work with specialist psychiatric care for adults, children and adolescents, forensic psychiatric care, as well as rehabilitation care.
