About the workplace
AniCura Blekinge, Högsby, and Borgholm, together with the animal hospital in Kalmar, form part of AniCura Kalmarsund. Together, we provide modern veterinary care with a strong focus on quality, service, and continuous development. We are now looking for a Nurse Manager who wants to contribute to our continued journey of growth.
About the role
As a Nurse Manager, you play a central role in leading, developing, and creating the conditions for our employees and operations to achieve their goals. The role involves both strategic and operational work regarding personnel issues, business development, working routines, quality, and resource planning. We are in an exciting phase of development where present, clear, and inclusive leadership is a key success factor.
This is a full-time position where the majority of the work consists of managerial and leadership tasks, combined with clinical presence in the practice to foster understanding, involvement, and close collaboration with the staff.
In this role, you have personnel responsibility for our animal care assistants, veterinary nurses, receptionists, and veterinarians. You will work actively to create a work environment where employees thrive, develop, and are given the right conditions to perform. You will work closely with other managers and be part of the AniCura Kalmarsund management team.
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, coaching, and developing employees, as well as creating conditions for performance, well-being, and development.
- Driving the business towards set goals and continuously working on improvement and development initiatives.
- Working with resource and competence optimization for an efficient and sustainable operation.
- Participating in budget and business planning.
- Managing personnel processes such as recruitment, salary setting, employee reviews, rehabilitation, and onboarding.
- Driving systematic work environment efforts with a focus on both physical and organizational/social work environment.
- Working with scheduling, competence supply, and staffing issues.
- Contributing to change and development work within the practice.
The position is a permanent full-time employment with an initial probationary period.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with several years of experience in management and leadership. To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you have a coaching approach and a value-creating leadership style where you motivate, engage, and develop your employees.
You are a confident and clear leader with good communication skills and an ability to build trust-based relationships. As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and thrive in a changing environment where you can combine operational and strategic work.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as:
- Clarity and responsiveness
- Inclusive leadership
- Relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Business acumen and a holistic perspective
- Ability to drive change and development
You do not need a background in veterinary care to succeed in this role – the most important thing for us is your leadership, your engagement, and your ability to develop people and businesses. However, if you have experience as a licensed veterinary nurse, animal care assistant, or in other roles within veterinary care, we view this as a merit.
Your experience can contribute valuable perspectives and a deep understanding of both the operation, the daily lives of employees, and the care we provide together to our patients and pet owners. A genuine interest in animals and people is seen as a natural asset in the role.
You have good knowledge of Office 365 and are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
