About the role

In the role of Trainer, you will be part of developing future training programs and exercises, primarily for our control room operators but also for other staff within the Operations department. You will participate in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of various operation-related training and exercises, both internally and externally (joint exercises with external actors), often in a simulator environment. Together with the rest of the training group, you will handle administration in the training portal. As a Training Specialist, you will work on creating new training materials (web-based and instructor-led) and managing existing operational training. Furthermore, you will play a key role in the authority's continuity work by creating realistic scenarios to practice crisis management. In the near future, there will be a major focus on training efforts, together with other training specialists, regarding the transition from an old to a new operation monitoring system at Svenska kraftnät.

You will help prepare the Operations operators for all major changes occurring now and in the future related to our activities.

The role offers excellent opportunities to learn large parts of Svenska kraftnät's operations, specifically the operation of the transmission grid.

The Support Unit has a central role within the Operations department. Support is responsible for all training matters in Operations, compliance with grid codes, emergency preparedness issues within the department, management of operation instructions/guidelines, and the administration of all operation-related contracts. The unit also works on network reconstruction issues and manual load shedding. Additionally, the unit holds product ownership of the power system simulator and associated power system models.

Requirements:

You have a knack for translating advanced technical and operational knowledge into clear, structured training plans.

You are collaborative and thrive in close dialogue with operators, experts, and other functions. You build trusting relationships and actively contribute to joint solutions, even in situations where different perspectives and requirements need to be balanced.

Furthermore, you are structured and meticulous, with strong skills in planning, documenting, and following up on training initiatives. You work methodically and ensure quality and traceability in both simulations and training processes.

You are also solution-oriented and flexible, with the ability to adapt quickly when conditions change. You see opportunities rather than obstacles and maintain calm and judgment even under time pressure or in live training scenarios.

Finally, you have a high sense of safety and responsibility, and understand the importance of precision, professionalism, and continuous improvement in a business that is crucial for the functioning of society.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

You also have:

• A technical degree in areas such as electrical power, energy systems, or equivalent experience acquired in another way, combined with a pedagogical mindset.
• Understanding of power systems.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Documented experience in teaching or oral presentation.
• Experience with power system simulator tools.
• Experience in programming, e.g., Python.
• Experience from working in the national control room at SVK.
