Do you want to work in a broad and technically challenging role where you can combine design, project management, and product development? We are now looking for a mechanical designer with project responsibility at Gigasense in Åkersberga.About the role

In this role, you will have a central function in the company's product development. You will be responsible for planning and driving projects according to Gigasense's quality system and established procedures for product development.

You will work both operationally and strategically with design and project management, acting as a technical support to the lead designer and other designers. The role involves broad responsibility where you combine technology, quality, and project control.

Responsibilities

Plan and drive product development projects according to Gigasense's quality system
Act as project manager in product development projects
Perform design work within CAD and strength calculations
Support the lead designer and designers in technical matters
Conduct independent review and approve design documents
Contribute technical expertise in support cases, such as calculations
Ensure that relevant directives, laws, regulations, and standards are complied with

Competence Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Master's degree is an advantage)
Experience in design and product development
Good knowledge of CAD systems
Good proficiency in English, both spoken and written
Knowledge of the Machinery Directive / Machinery Regulation

Merits

Knowledge of SS-EN 15011:2011 (cranes)
Knowledge of SS-EN ISO 13849-1 and -2 (machine safety)
Experience in project management
Experience with MPS systems
Negotiation and contract experience
