About the role: As an Automation Engineer at Stockholm Vatten & Avfall, you will play a central role in one of the largest and most critical water facilities in the Nordic region. Here, you will work both operationally within the facility and on the development of advanced control systems, following projects from idea to finished solution.

You will become part of a competent maintenance team consisting of automation engineers, electrical technicians, mechanics, and process engineers. The role involves close collaboration across technical disciplines and a balance between practical field work and programming/analysis. Working hours are daytime (07:30–16:00).

Responsibilities:

  • Programming and responsibility for PLC systems.
  • Troubleshooting, analysis, and optimization of automation and control systems.
  • Development and adjustment of functions in existing systems.
  • Working with SCADA systems and operational monitoring.
  • Supporting technicians and operations with PLC-related issues.
  • Performing logical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical measurements.
  • Participating in projects and contributing to requirement specifications and technical solutions.
  • Commissioning, testing, and improving facilities.
  • Planning and following up on work in maintenance systems.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Approx. 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
  • Experience from the process industry.
  • Experience with PLC and/or SCADA systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Clean security clearance ("Green" in the burden register) as work takes place in a security-classified environment.

Merits:

  • Education in automation, electrical engineering, or control engineering.
  • Experience with communication protocols and fieldbuses.
