About the company: Mitta AB is a technical consulting company focused on measurement, geotechnics, environmental, and laboratory services. The group has approximately 450 employees in total in Sweden and Finland and extensive experience working with mobile laboratories within geotechnics. Over the past 15 years, Mitta has been present at numerous major infrastructure projects, particularly within the mining industry.
Our approach to material control with rapid results is highly sought after as it minimizes the risk of machine downtime. We perform ongoing sampling and various types of compaction controls, and in our mobile laboratories, we can perform analyses such as particle size distribution, water content, and evaluation of compaction control. For more advanced analyses, we have our accredited laboratory in Luleå, where the operations are accredited against SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for aggregate, soil, and geotechnical laboratory investigations.
About the position: As a Laboratory Technician, you will staff one of our mobile laboratories in Gällivare or Kiruna, where Mitta AB provides laboratory services in various infrastructure projects. Mitta's role in these projects is to control the soil and rock materials used in the construction of tailings dams. Your main tasks will include field sampling, compaction controls on constructed surfaces, as well as analyzing samples in the mobile laboratory and reporting results. As the company's representative on-site, the role also involves significant contact with clients/contractors.
The position involves varied tasks and offers the opportunity to be part of a large project where you will build valuable contacts within the construction and infrastructure industry. You will either work in a team with a colleague or as the sole representative on-site. Therefore, we value self-motivation and good teamwork skills.
We are looking for someone who is engaged, meticulous, and has an easy time collaborating and communicating with others. Adequate education and experience from a laboratory or the construction industry are meritorious but not mandatory. The technical knowledge required to perform the tasks is provided through on-site internal training.
For employees not residing in the project area, Mitta provides free accommodation during the work weeks, as well as a company car for travel between Luleå and the current work location.
Requirements: Basic IT skills, a valid B-driver's license, and fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
Work location: Gällivare or Kiruna
Period: Summer–Autumn 2026. Start and end dates are determined by agreement and can be adjusted as needed. There is an opportunity for extension and continued seasonal employment during the summer of 2027.
Employment type: Full-time with shift work according to a 7/7 schedule.
If this sounds interesting, you are welcome to submit your application by 2026-05-31.
Hiring is ongoing, and start dates are agreed upon individually.
