About the role:

As a technical consultant, you will work with boiler control, steam network control, district heating network control, and later also meso-furnace control. You will have technical lead responsibility for your area and are expected to sell in, lead, and work practically in several parallel technical projects. Optimation primarily serves the paper, power, and metal industries, but aims to expand into more industries such as petrochemicals and outside of Sweden. What Optimation's customers have in common is that they have advanced production processes where small improvements in control, measurement, and optimization can have large effects on efficiency, quality, and profitability.

Your main tasks and areas of responsibility:

• Boiler Control: Modeling and simulation of boilers, as well as development of control strategies and optimization.
• Steam Network Control: Modeling of steam systems and condensate flows, as well as optimization of pressure levels and load distribution.
• District Heating Network Control: Optimization of production and distribution, as well as model-based control of district heating networks.
• Customer and Business Development: Identify customer needs and propose technical solutions, sell both small and large projects, build customer relationships in western/southern Sweden, and develop project proposals and quotations.
• Project Management: Lead several parallel projects with 2–3 project members, plan resources, follow up on schedules and delivery, and ensure technical quality and communication with the customer.

As a person, you are technically minded and have a great curiosity for problem-solving. To fit the role, we see that you are customer-focused and driven, taking great responsibility for understanding the big picture and finding the best solution for the customer. You are communicative and business-minded in your personality and have a good ability to collaborate with both customers and colleagues.

Your qualifications:

• Civil Engineer in Control Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Physics, or equivalent. Alternatively, other theoretical education and substantial experience in control engineering.
• Experience in controlling or modeling boilers, steam systems, or district heating systems. Alternatively, other process areas.
• Ability to analyze measurement data and system behaviors.
• Good understanding of dynamic processes such as thermodynamics, heat, and mass transport.
• Experience in a consulting role and customer-facing dialogues.
• Ability to sell technical projects.
• Experience in project management and quotation work.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Programming experience in control systems is a merit.
