About the role

As a Systems Engineer in the field of electromagnetic weapons, you will participate in technical studies within technology and materiel development assignments. You will be responsible for technically evaluating assignments currently held by industry, universities, and FOI (Swedish Defence Research Agency). Together with project managers and product managers, you will engage in dialogues and provide support to the Swedish Armed Forces in early needs formulation. Furthermore, you will work on future requirement specifications for these technical systems.

The role involves interpreting and translating the Swedish Armed Forces' strategic ambitions into technical requirements, as well as supporting them in early needs and requirement phases.

You will contribute to the development work by coordinating actors within industry, research, and international collaborations, as well as conducting qualified technical assessments.

The role also involves supporting product and project managers in the field of electromagnetic weapons in the planning and execution of projects, as well as participating in the creation of requirement specifications, documentation, and commercial materials prior to procurement. Additionally, you will participate in requirement reviews and follow-up of supplier orders, including through project meetings and design reviews. The role also covers the handover of materiel to the Swedish Armed Forces and subsequent follow-up.

The work includes active participation in international collaborations and the utilization and feedback of significant information to your own operations.

The position is located in Stockholm. Business travel, both domestic and international, occurs.

About you

We are looking for you who are educated/have a degree as a civil engineer or university engineer, or have equivalent competence acquired in another way that FMV assesses as equivalent. You have a few years of relevant work experience as an engineer. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Experience and good knowledge in the field of electrophysics and/or electrical engineering is a great advantage. It is an asset if you have experience from the defense sector or knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' systems. Possession of a B-driver's license is a plus.
