BAE Systems Bofors continues to strengthen its operations within advanced defense systems and is now looking for a new Quality Manager to join the quality department.
In this role, you will become a central part of the company's project operations, acting as the link between the customer's quality function and internal delivery. The core of the assignment is to ensure that high customer requirements are implemented in practice throughout the entire project lifecycle – from planning to approved delivery.
– "We work in technically advanced and long-term projects where quality is not just a checkpoint, but an integrated part of the entire delivery. Therefore, the Quality Manager role is crucial for our success," says Quality Manager Anna Arnvig.
BAE Systems Bofors is part of a global group with over 100,000 employees and has approximately 700 employees at its sites in Karlskoga, Karlstad, and Örebro. The company develops and produces advanced defense systems, including artillery pieces, naval systems, and intelligent ammunition. In this environment, you will work closely with both internal functions and external customers in complex technical projects.
A role with overall responsibility
As a Quality Manager, you work in several parallel, often long-term projects. You have overall responsibility for quality assurance and drive systematic improvement work throughout the project organization.
The role involves coordinating quality work, leading follow-ups and audits, and ensuring that deviations, risks, and changes are handled in a structured manner. An important part of the job is also the dialogue with the customer, where you lead quality and follow-up meetings and ensure a shared understanding of requirements and delivery.
– "This is a role for you who thrives at the intersection of technology, customer, and project management. You need to be able to see both the details and the big picture simultaneously," continues Anna Arnvig.
The driving force in the role
Aside from operational quality work, the role has a clear focus on improvement. You work actively to develop working methods, identify lessons learned, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's processes.
This also includes responsibility for quality plans, delivery approvals, risk management, change management, as well as participation in project reviews and tender work.
Who the role is suited for
BAE Systems Bofors is looking for you who has several years of experience in quality work in complex technical environments. You have a post-secondary technical education or equivalent experience.
To succeed in the role, you must be able to handle technically advanced systems where multiple disciplines interact, and have very good communication skills in both Swedish and English.
You work in a structured and analytical manner and have the ability to drive issues forward in complex project environments. You take responsibility, identify improvement opportunities, and translate them into concrete results that strengthen quality and customer value.
You thrive in a role where you coordinate multiple stakeholders and work with the overall project picture.
Experience with improvement methods such as LEAN or Six Sigma is an advantage.
A role in a company with a strong culture
Aside from technical and operational responsibilities, BAE Systems Bofors also highlights the importance of work environment and development. Employees are offered support from a mentor at the start of employment, continuous competence development, and opportunities for development within the group.
Flexible working hours, wellness programs, and social activities are part of everyday life, as is a culture characterized by collaboration and long-term perspective.
– "We want our employees to thrive and develop over time. This is a prerequisite for us to continue delivering at the level we do today," says Anna Arnvig.
