We are currently looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer for a high-tech company within the Swedish defense industry in Stockholm. The company works with advanced systems related to the JAS 39 Gripen and other airborne solutions, focusing on the development and integration of technically complex systems with high demands on performance, precision, and reliability.

Here you will work close to the core of development in a smaller organization, with short decision-making paths, broad technical scope, and good opportunities to take overall responsibility in projects.

As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will work with aerodynamic analysis, modeling, and verification of a flying system across a wide speed range. The role is technically deep and is aimed at you who want to combine advanced theoretical aerodynamics with numerical calculations and practical verification.

Typical tasks include:

• Aerodynamic modeling of the fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, including lift curves, drag, stability, and control moments across the entire speed range
• CFD validation of analytical models
• Support in the design of wind tunnel tests and correlation with computational models
• Contribution to error budget and CEP analysis regarding aerodynamic uncertainty

Have a strong theoretical foundation in aerodynamics, thrive in close-to-application environments, and want to contribute directly to the development of advanced flying systems within the Swedish defense industry.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a similar field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in aerodynamic analysis of flying systems (e.g., UAVs, missiles, guided munitions, or similar)
• Good understanding of transonic aerodynamics and compressibility effects
• Experience with CFD tools (e.g., OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or similar)
• Ability to work with analytical models in parallel with numerical solutions, understanding the underlying physics and limitations of the methods
• Fluent Swedish and good English in both speech and writing

Merits:

• Experience from the Swedish defense industry or other security-critical operations
• Experience with wind tunnel testing, including planning, instrumentation, execution, and data analysis
• Experience with modeling related to control systems or ballistics, such as CEP analysis, dispersion patterns, or guidance performance
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with systems, control, or effect engineers

The position is security-classified and requires you to undergo and pass a security clearance according to security protection legislation.

The position is full-time with a market-competitive salary and is located at the company's premises in Stockholm.

Start date is by agreement, and selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so please submit your application as soon as possible.

You start your employment as a consultant via Xamera for approximately 6 months. During this period, you work on-site at the company in the role of Aerodynamics Engineer and receive a secure and structured start, with regular check-ins and support from us at Xamera.

The goal is for you to transition into a permanent position directly with the company after this period, provided the collaboration works well for all parties. Starting via Xamera means a clear path into a qualified role and a planned transition to permanent employment with the client.
