We deliver the digital tools that enable the police to work efficiently, both in crime prevention and law enforcement. As an employee in the IT Department, you are part of an important societal mission where your skills make a real difference.
Within the International Cooperation Section, we have a specific responsibility to prioritize and steer development in the area of international cooperation. We act as a link between the operational needs and the various teams in the IT Department, focusing on securing critical integrations with partners such as Europol and other EU systems.
The Section also works on developing systems that enable faster communication channels between Swedish and international partners, which directly strengthens the ability to solve crimes across borders and contribute to a safer society. Our task is to take overall responsibility for the new development, management, and support of digital tools and applications for the Police's law enforcement activities.

You are expected to remain active in the development work, but you also have a responsibility to guide the team in creating stable, secure, and manageable solutions that meet the law enforcement operations' need for advanced IT support.
Your main areas of responsibility combine active technical participation with leadership. You contribute to coding and architecture, particularly in Java and microservices, while coaching the team towards common quality standards. As a link between technology and operations, you make complex problems understandable for all involved. By driving knowledge sharing, you create an environment characterized by collaborative work without hierarchy, where you also ensure that integrations, databases, and Linux environments are both secure and sustainable from a broader perspective.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have:

- Experience acting as a senior developer or technical leader where you have shaped technical decisions and coached junior colleagues.
- Ability to express yourself fluently and clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and to adapt your level to the recipient.
- Experience in building stable integrations between systems, with an understanding of security and performance.
- Swedish citizenship.
Merits
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Practical experience with Docker/Kubernetes and gRPC.
- Experience with test automation and driving quality issues within the team.
- Ability to visualize architecture and flows to create a shared understanding.
- Practical experience working with Front End.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for a natural leader who is passionate about coding themselves while also pedagogically explaining why a solution is best and viewing the team's success as their own.
You switch smoothly between strategic holistic vision and detail level, and take initiative to improve both processes and relationships with a non-hierarchical attitude.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
