Segersta School is now looking for a committed leisure-time teacher who will also have part of the assignment as a diabetes resource for a student in grades F–6. This position suits you if you want to work closely with students and colleagues in a secure, family-like school environment where everyone knows everyone.

The role is a combination where you support a student with diabetes during school hours according to a defined self-care plan, and work pedagogically at the leisure-time center (after-school care) in the afternoons. You will become an important source of security for the student and a natural part of the school's work team.

Responsibilities as a leisure-time teacher:

• Plan, implement, and follow up on activities at the leisure-time center.
• Create a safe, creative, and stimulating environment for the students.
• Work based on the curriculum and the school's core values.
• Collaborate closely with school staff and guardians.

Responsibilities as a diabetes resource:

• Support a student with diabetes during school hours according to the self-care plan.
• Assist with blood sugar checks, meals, physical activity, and insulin administration if needed (according to delegation).
• Contribute to the student's ability to participate in school and leisure activities on equal terms.

Qualifications

• Educated and licensed leisure-time teacher/educator or other relevant pedagogical education.
• Experience working in a school or leisure-time center.
• Good command of Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits

Experience working with students with diabetes or other chronic illnesses. Interest in relationship-building work in a close-knit school environment.

Employment

The employment is permanent with a scope of 80–100%. Start date is autumn term 2026.
