We are looking for you who are a specialized nurse in intensive care and want to become part of our specialist team that is at the forefront of intensive care. Are you someone who likes challenges, is flexible, and can quickly adapt? Then you will thrive at TIVA.
The Vascular-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (TIVA) is part of university care and is one of two intensive care units at Örebro University Hospital. Here, the focus is on the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Patients are cared for by specially trained staff at the clinic. At TIVA, advanced high-tech equipment is used, such as ventilators, CVVHD, an intra-aortic balloon pump (mechanical support for blood circulation), and ECMO (heart-lung machine for intensive care).
Patients treated at TIVA require intensive care after surgery on the heart, lungs, or blood vessels. We also treat patients who require specialist knowledge in cases of acute or severe heart and lung failure, as well as vascular issues. We have 6 care beds staffed 24 hours a day. During this time, patients are monitored, diagnosed, and treated based on evidence-based and proven knowledge.
At TIVA, there is a professional team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, specialized nurses, assistant nurses, and physiotherapists. About the OperationsThe Vascular and Thoracic Clinic USÖ provides highly specialized care and admits patients with diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lungs, and chest wall. The operations area includes vascular and thoracic surgery with associated anesthesia and intensive care. The work is carried out in close collaboration, primarily with the Cardio-Thoracic Medicine and Clinical Physiology operations area. The clinic consists of a care ward, outpatient clinics, an operating department, and an intensive care unit at USÖ. Approximately 550 heart surgeries, 150 lung surgeries, 600 vascular surgical procedures, and 30 surgeries for chest wall deformities (pectus excavatum) are performed each year. The Vascular and Thoracic operations area is also medically responsible for the operations at the Venous Center at Karlskoga Hospital, where patients with varicose veins in the legs are treated.
