Do you want to lead a central IT function with the mission to create stable, business-oriented IT support – and at the same time contribute to the development of the municipality's digital capabilities? Växjö Municipality is Kronoberg's largest employer, working every day, year-round, for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Together, we are creating a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think new, learn, and develop together. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can make a real difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!
We are looking for a secure and engaged Unit Manager with a clear leadership focus, who wants to be responsible for ensuring that the municipality's IT delivery works in everyday life – and at the same time enables continued development and digitalization of the operations.
About the position
The position is located within the IT and Digitalization Department. You have personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility for a group of 13 service managers and report to the IT and Digitalization Director. You are part of the department's management team, where you contribute to the department's overall development, priorities, and goal achievement.
The unit plays a central role in ensuring that the municipality's IT services work in everyday life and develop in line with the needs of the operations. The assignment also includes leading and developing cooperation with external suppliers, where you follow up on contracts, ensure delivery quality, handle deviations, and drive improvements.
As Unit Manager Service Management, you are responsible for further developing a well-functioning and experienced unit. You lead a group with high competence and strong self-drive, where your focus is on creating the right conditions for continued development, collaboration, and top-class delivery.
You set the direction, create clarity, and drive priorities that make a real difference in the operations. Through close dialogue with the operations, you ensure that IT services meet needs, create value, and contribute to the municipality's development.
The role involves overall responsibility for follow-up, economy, and supplier collaboration. Together with your employees, you develop working methods and strengthen an already stable and appreciated delivery. You ensure that the work is carried out according to established processes, with clear roles and responsibilities, so that the operations can act efficiently even under high load or change.
Your leadership
You are a secure and clear leader who creates structure in a complex environment. With a holistic view, clarity, and communicative skills, you create trust, engagement, and a common direction. You see IT and digitalization as a tool for operational development and have the ability to translate technology's possibilities into concrete benefits for both residents and the municipality's operations.
Your leadership is characterized by lack of pretension, responsiveness, and result focus. You dare to make decisions, but do so with the ability to create consensus and engagement.
Your profile
We are looking for you who have a business-oriented understanding of IT and who are motivated by development and improvement. You thrive in a role where collaboration and a holistic perspective are crucial, and where you get to strengthen delivery, quality, and efficiency. You see opportunities for improvement, drive change, and ensure that new working methods gain traction in the organization.
You have:
- Experience of leadership with personnel responsibility
- Experience of IT delivery in a larger organization
- Good understanding of service management, supplier control, and SLA
- Experience of established working methods (e.g., ITIL)
- Relevant education or equivalent experience
