Automation Technician – Join Caverion's push for the buildings of the future

Building automation is the key to smarter energy usage and more efficient operations. We are looking for you who want to contribute to creating sustainable, innovative solutions for modern buildings. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and be part of a team that drives development forward. Caverion is investing heavily in building automation in several regions across the country – with the greatest focus on Stockholm. In Stockholm, our automation department is divided into two sections, located in Sollentuna and Södertälje, and we are now looking for a new colleague for Sollentuna.

About the role of Project Manager in Building Automation

As a project manager, you will be the face of our company to our customers and work on creating smart, energy-efficient, and sustainable buildings. You are responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing control and monitoring systems that ensure operational safety, comfort, and reduced energy consumption.

Your responsibilities

A project manager in building automation is responsible for planning, leading, and following up on projects. The role involves ensuring that technical solutions are installed and function according to requirements, while keeping the project on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality goals.

The responsibilities include coordinating and acting as a central contact point throughout the entire project lifecycle. The project manager is responsible for design, procurement, scheduling, and resource allocation. It also includes following up on installations, commissioning, and verifying that the systems function as intended. Furthermore, the role involves working with documentation, risk management, and quality assurance, as well as ensuring that the project complies with applicable laws, standards, and customer requirements. A technical interest and understanding of modern automation systems and digital solutions in buildings are often required.

The project manager needs to have good communication skills, be structured and solution-oriented, and be able to handle multiple projects in parallel. The role suits people who thrive with responsibility, collaboration, and driving projects from start to finish.

The role includes, among other things:

  • Design and construction
  • Material orders
  • Project economics such as budget, forecast, ETA, etc.
  • Contact with subcontractors for installation and switchgear cabinets
  • Time and resource planning for your projects
  • Leading or participating in coordinated functional tests and inspections
  • Customer contact
  • Sales

We believe that you:

  • Have a genuine interest in building automation and technology.
  • Enjoy working in a team but also have the ability to plan and act independently.
  • Are a team player who contributes to both colleagues and customers.
  • Like order and structure, take responsibility, and have good communication skills.
  • See service as a natural part of your work.
  • Have at least three years of experience in building automation.

Perhaps you have worked as an automation engineer and feel it is time to take the next step in your career as a junior project manager with us. You may also already have some years of experience in the role of project manager and be ready for new challenges in a developing and technically exciting environment.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work closely with both technology and business, where you gradually take greater responsibility in the different phases of the projects. We value your technical understanding, your drive, and your willingness to develop in the role of a leader. The position can be combined with, for example, programming of DUC/PLC/SCADA.
