About Us and Your Responsibilities

The Memory Clinic is a specialist clinic with a team-based approach where nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, and secretaries collaborate to investigate individuals with suspected dementia according to national guidelines.

You will serve as the contact nurse for patients connected to the Memory Clinic. This involves following up on prescribed medications, providing continuous counseling to patients and their relatives regarding dementia and its impact on daily life. You will also collaborate closely with municipal dementia nurses and assistance coordinators.

You are also responsible for continuously registering new visits and follow-up appointments in SveDem – a national quality registry for dementia diseases.

The Acute Geriatric Ward has 16 care beds divided into two care teams, where nurses and assistant nurses share responsibility for 8 patients each. Geriatrics is a broad field, and we treat patients with many different diagnoses. Given that we care for elderly patients with multiple illnesses, a holistic perspective is essential.

Teamwork is also a key factor here, and we hold weekly team rounds to plan care goals with the patient's needs in focus. As a nurse, your duties include medication administration, nursing care, central line care, wound dressing changes, blood transfusions, and supervising students. Here, you will have excellent opportunities to develop and vary your tasks in collaboration with the entire team.

You will alternate between ward work and clinic work. The clinic also offers several appreciated support functions, such as discharge coordinators, care leaders, and meal hosts.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialized training in dementia care. We place great emphasis on personal qualities, assuming that you are responsible, independent, self-directed, but also a team player since we work in teams. We want you to be solution-focused and to have a good attitude and empathy for patients and their loved ones in difficult situations and crises.

Employment Terms

Permanent position at 100%, or other agreement. Start date by agreement. The time is divided between the Cognitive Clinic and the Geriatric Ward. Work on the Geriatric Ward includes weekend shifts.
