The Occupational Therapy Clinic at Mälarsjukhuset provides rehabilitation in both outpatient and inpatient care. We are now looking for a substitute occupational therapist for the Infectious Diseases and Lung Department. Working in inpatient care is rewarding but can at times be demanding, as we play a crucial role in the discharge process.

The occupational therapy team shares premises with physiotherapists and rehabilitation nursing assistants. This ensures that colleagues are always nearby to answer questions, reflect with, offer help, or receive help in daily work.

Your Responsibilities

The discharge process begins the moment a patient is admitted to the ward. Sometimes only medical needs need to be addressed, but often an occupational therapy assessment and intervention are also required. You will be based in our facilities but will have a primary placement where you meet patients to assess the need for rehabilitative measures and assistive devices. This primary placement is for the Infectious Diseases and Lung Department.

In addition to your primary placement, you will be part of a coverage group consisting of a smaller number of occupational therapy colleagues, with whom you will plan holidays, among other things. You will work independently and take responsibility for your tasks in a structured manner. At the same time, you will collaborate closely with physiotherapists, the ward team, patients and their relatives, as well as other healthcare providers.

Your Qualifications

• You are a licensed occupational therapist or will graduate at the end of the upcoming term.
• A valid driver's license (Category B) is desirable, as home visits may occur.
• We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Employment Type

Fixed-term substitute position for at least 6 months, with start date to be agreed upon.
