Villa Vikhem in Staffanstorp is now looking for an Activities Coordinator to help create conditions that increase the quality of life for our residents. You will generally work daytime hours Monday-Friday, but may need to work some weekends and evenings for special events or based on operational needs.

About the role

Being an Activities Coordinator means offering activities that residents need and desire. You ensure they strengthen their own resources and maintain good health. Your task is to provide quality of life. You see every individual and have the ability to understand what each person needs.

You play a key role in leading our activities council, where all activity representatives from the units participate. Here, we plan common holidays, music arrangements, and activities. You also support your colleagues in carrying out smaller activities at the units. Your direct manager is the Operations Manager.

You are also part of a network with Activities Coordinators in the region/country and keep yourself updated on the broader world. An important part of the role is managing our social media; e.g., Facebook and Instagram, keeping them updated with current info and images. You build contacts and develop good collaborations with local organizations, schools, municipalities, and volunteers.

You get to influence by taking initiative in change work and development of the operations. This may involve leading exciting projects to benefit the residence and seeking grants or scholarships for this.

Alongside this, you may also work with care duties as a Nursing Assistant based on the needs of the operation.

About Villa Vikhem

Villa Vikhem is a nursing home in the Vikhem area in Staffanstorp with 40 permanent residence spots and 20 short-term spots.

• Youth Care (Ung Omsorg): We collaborate with the company Ung Omsorg. This means a team of young people aged 14–18 visits us on weekends and holidays. Ung Omsorg engages in various activities with us to add extra value to the lives of our residents.
• Group Leaders: You have a manager close to you who spends part of their time working in the operations. This can also be a career opportunity for you as a Nursing Assistant.
• Animals in Care: Here we work with animals in care, and we have regular visits from therapy animals.
