Your workplace

The Business Area for Children, Young People, and Family Health is located throughout Värmland and consists of family centers, midwife clinics, child health centers (BHV), youth clinics, first-line youth services, speech therapy units, child and family support, and treatment and counseling clinics. Together, we provide healthcare to children, young people, and their families in Värmland, with a focus on preventive healthcare.

We are now looking for a Child Health Nurse (BHV-sjuksköterska) for our child health centers in Eastern Värmland – Kristinehamn – Filipstad – Storfors. Storfors is staffed 1-2 days a week. All child health centers are part of family centers, located in the same building. Here, you work together with child health nurses, midwives, educators, counselors, and doctors. At the relevant service points, many important development and research projects are currently underway, focusing on the public health of our youngest residents, including TRYGG – the new parent support education.

Your responsibilities

With the child in focus, as a Child Health Nurse, you provide support and information on topics such as breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, language development, vision, hearing, self-care, and child safety. Together with the parent, you follow the child's development up to school age. As a Child Health Nurse, you offer support in parenthood (TRYGG), health monitoring, and vaccinations according to the national vaccination program for children aged 0–6.

The work is also carried out in collaboration with other professions, primarily within the Family Center and the business area.

Your skills/competencies

You are a registered district nurse or pediatric nurse with prescribing rights. A Class B driver's license is required as home visits are part of the assignment. We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, and engaged. We want you to contribute to job satisfaction and take responsibility for both patients and colleagues, as well as the development of the business. The work is independent, but close collaboration within the team and with other actors requires very good teamwork skills. Previous experience from working in child health care is desirable but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
