About the Role
Olink has grown explosively in recent years and has made its mark globally in a short time. Their groundbreaking products are currently used by leading research institutes and pharmaceutical companies to drive the next major breakthroughs in medicine. With headquarters and a service lab in both Uppsala and Boston, Olink is a truly global player in Life Science. Here, the technology is developed and used to provide new understanding of complex diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders, research that can truly change people's lives.
In the role of Development Engineer, you will become part of the Lab Support team within Research & Development. The team currently consists of nine people, including the manager, and is characterized by an open, supportive, and solution-oriented climate. Together, you are responsible for the R&D lab's infrastructure, everything from instruments and pipetting robots to raw materials, chemicals, and orders, and are available to support product development projects as needed.
As part of the team's raw material group, you play a key role in ensuring efficient and quality-assured handling of the raw materials used in R&D activities. In this role, you will become part of both the group's continued development and the daily work. You work operationally with the receipt, preparation, and handling of raw materials, while simultaneously driving improvements in working methods, routines, and standards to optimize flows and quality. You are responsible for ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time and that processes maintain a high and consistent quality. Furthermore, you actively work on process improvements, automation, and streamlining of workflows, where you also contribute to the development and implementation of new technical solutions, such as pipetting robots and other automation tools. The role also entails significant responsibility for independently driving process development as well as further developing and working in LIMS and other system support tools linked to the raw material group's workflows.
In other words, you will become an operational and development-driven key person who, together with the team, will continue to develop and future-proof raw material management within Olink R&D.
This is a consultancy assignment, which means you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Olink. The assignment will be full-time and is expected to last at least until the turn of the year. There are very good opportunities for extension and permanent hiring, provided there is room for it and all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

Responsibilities
In the role, you will among other things:
- Receive samples and deliveries of raw materials
- Process and handle raw materials for projects
- Retrieve and sort ordered raw materials into freezers
- Collaborate with both your own team and other internal teams at Olink
- Operate pipetting robots and other laboratory equipment
- Participate in lab maintenance
- Be part of the raw material group's continued development with a focus on improving and streamlining workflows
- Create and update instructions for workflows and instruments linked to the raw material group's processes
- Independently drive work on process development as well as implementation and further development of system support such as LIMS
We are looking for you who
- Are educated as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (BMLS) or have equivalent laboratory-oriented education
- Have experience from hospital labs or biobanks
- Have experience in process development and/or have initiated lab projects previously
- Have a very good understanding of laboratory-oriented systems such as LIMS
- Are accustomed to pipetting
- Have very good computer literacy
- Are very comfortable with Swedish and English in both speech and writing, as this is required to perform the job
- Want to work with routine tasks but also develop and improve working methods
It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have:
- Good knowledge of Excel
You are a careful, structured, and solution-oriented person who thrives on finding smart and efficient ways to solve problems. You find it easy to collaborate with others and are unpretentious in your approach, where the focus is always on achieving common goals. Additionally, you are accustomed to driving work forward and coordinating tasks to ensure that things are done in a qualitative and efficient manner.
