Plejd is an innovative Swedish tech company specializing in smart lighting and home automation. We are passionate about making electricians' daily lives easier by developing products and services that utilize new technology effectively. Through our leading position in lighting automation, we have established ourselves as a key player in the Swedish market.
We are an integrated full-stack company with internal expertise, boasting a broad group of specialists in areas such as production, automation, electronics, mechanics, embedded systems, app development, and cloud/backend technologies. All under one roof.
About the RoleIn this role, you will work to ensure that our products meet both manufacturing requirements (DFM) and product standard requirements. You will focus on understanding the customer's perspective and developing smart solutions that make our customers' lives easier.
You will work closely throughout the entire product development process, collaborating with various manufacturing methods and materials – from injection molding and extrusion to casting and laser cutting – to create products that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. A key part of the role is the ability to quickly produce well-thought-out CAD designs, build and evaluate prototypes, and drive development forward through practical problem-solving. With your experience, you will contribute to a faster development pace, fewer iterations, and solutions that work well from the start.
With your sharp eye for detail and design, you ensure that design and production go hand in hand. You also play a central role in supplier dialogues, driving discussions regarding prototypes, manufacturing processes, and initial price negotiations to ensure high quality and cost-efficiency.
About YouWe are looking for you with an education in mechanical design and several years of experience in product development. You thrive in an operational role close to the product and want to work practically through the entire development process.
We envision that you have:Several years of experience with CAD, preferably SolidWorks
Good experience in designing and prototyping products, preferably with electronics integration
Knowledge in modeling and simulation
A good understanding of how to optimize both product performance and manufacturability
The ability to independently solve complex problems and make well-founded technical decisions
Good communication skills in both Swedish and English
You are creative, curious, and inventive, and thrive in a flat organization where you get to work close to the technology alongside colleagues from various disciplines.
Experience from the lighting or sun protection industry
Experience working cross-functionally and communicating effectively with different areas of expertise
We often receive many strong applications for this type of role. To give us a better picture of how you work, we would appreciate it if you included something that demonstrates this – for example, projects, images, sketches, or other relevant material.
If you are unable to share material from previous employers, it is perfectly fine to show your own projects, hobby projects, or other non-confidential work.
We recruit continuously, so don't wait to submit your application. The steps in the process may include work tests and potentially psychological tests as part of a more objective selection.
We will get back to you as soon as we have an update.
