Here you will work close to our processes and be part of a team that together develops stable and long-term sustainable maintenance work in Svappavaara. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will have a varied role where you are close to operations and contribute to long-term improvements.
The most important job of the future
We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to be part of shaping the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?
Your role
We are looking for three Maintenance Engineers for our facilities in Svappavaara. One role is located in the Crushing Plant, which is the first step in the process where the raw ore is crushed and sorted. The second is in the Concentrator, where we purify the ore by separating the valuable minerals from the rest of the material. The third is in the Pelletizing Plant, where raw pellets are formed and heat-treated.
Regardless of which plant you work in, you will work closely with both operations and maintenance and contribute to strengthening the operational safety and availability of our facilities. Our processes are technically advanced and characterized by continuous operation, which provides a varied and developing workday.
You work in an environment where structure, long-term perspective, and improvement work are central. The role combines strategic, tactical, and operational tasks and suits you who want to vary perspectives and work both close to the business and with long-term development. You will receive a planned introduction and support from experienced colleagues and can, over time, take on broader responsibilities based on your experience.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop maintenance work through clear structures, methods, and priorities
- Analyze and track failure causes that affect availability and quality
- Manage and develop maintenance strategies, plans, and standards
- Plan, coordinate, lead, and follow up on planned maintenance shutdowns
- Solve technical problems and support operations in complex issues
- Participate as a technical expert in projects and act as a requirement setter
- Drive dialogue and make prioritization decisions together with operations, maintenance, and contractors
- Participate in improvement work and sometimes take a leading role
- Be responsible for the budget and budget follow-up related to maintenance work
- Work long-term to reduce the need for quick operational solutions
What you bring with you
You are structured and responsible and approach problems in an analytical and curious way. You like to learn new things and use your insights to improve methods and results. You are unpretentious and collaborate easily with others, ask for help when something is new or unclear, and are happy to share what you know. Your desire to develop and contribute means you function well both independently and together with colleagues.
You also have:
- A university degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering or similar
- Previous experience from industrial operations, preferably process or mining industry (meritorious)
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
