LKAB is in the midst of a historic transition towards a more sustainable future. To succeed, stable and efficient flows throughout the entire operation are required. We are now looking for a temporary Logistics Engineer who wants to contribute to securing the supply of important additives and raw materials to our production.
The most important job of the future
We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on this journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to be part of shaping the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?
Your role
As a Logistics Engineer within tactical planning, you work with analyzing, directing, and developing supply flows for additives and raw materials within LKAB. This role suits you if you want to put technical and analytical skills into practice and build an understanding of how complex systems are interconnected – from supplier to production and further out into the logistics chain.
In the role, you will among other things:
- direct and plan supply flows of additives from supplier to production site
- analyze needs, inventory, and outcomes within your area of responsibility
- plan, coordinate, and prioritize sea freight/train transport together with other functions
- contribute to problem-solving in deviations that affect production, maintenance, or logistics
- participate in planning, production, and collaboration forums related to the business
You will become part of Tactical Planning, a team with broad competence and long experience where knowledge sharing and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life. The operation extends from Narvik to Luleå, and the work is carried out both in the short and long term, giving you good insight into the entire value chain.
The position is a temporary assignment with a planned start in October or November and extends up to one year.
What you bring with you
You are curious, structured, and have an analytical mind that allows you to quickly grasp complex contexts. You enjoy collaborating with others, take responsibility for your tasks, and communicate clearly even when issues need to be solved jointly across organizational boundaries. You have the ability to see the big picture and understand how technical, logistical, and operational parts affect each other.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- a university education in a relevant engineering or technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- interest in logistics, flows, and supply planning
- good computer literacy and ability to work structured with information
- good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- Class B driver's license
Meritorious experience includes:
- experience in logistics, industrial flows, or transport planning
- experience in analysis, follow-up, or work in planning systems
