Do you want to work close to the product – for real – and help develop the next generation of ride-on products for one of Sweden's strongest industrial brands?
At Husqvarna, you will become part of an established R&D organization of approximately 60 people, stepping into a smaller, specialized mechanics team with significant autonomy and close collaboration.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for Husqvarna's R&D operations. The team works on developing ride-on products such as ride-on mowers and other rideable solutions for international markets.
Organization & Team
- A total of approximately 60 people within R&D. You will belong to the team working on consumer products, but you will also work on professional products.
- The Mechanical Design team consists of 12 people and will grow by one.
- Work in close project teams with: Mechanics, Electrical Systems, Purchasing, Product Management, Lab.
- Within the organization, work is conducted in both development and product care.
- The team is characterized by short decision paths, pragmatism, and a clear delivery focus – while there is ample competence and support around.
About the Role
In the role of Mechanical Engineer, you work with mechanical design in new development projects related to Husqvarna's ride-on products. You will become an important part of the continued platform development where both technical performance and cost-efficiency are central.
You will:
- Work with the design of welded and bent sheet metal constructions, plastic parts, and covers.
- Be responsible for one or more subsystems, such as chassis, motor-related components, covers, pedals, or other mechanical functions.
- Create 3D and 2D documentation, tolerance setting (form & position), and BOM.
- Ensure that design documentation is ready for purchasing and production.
- Maintain close contact with suppliers, purchasing, and adjacent technical areas.
- The role spans several phases – from feasibility studies and concepts to verification and testing – making the daily work both broad and developmental.
- Work close to the lab and the product.
- Work hands-on and follow your solutions all the way.
- Participate in testing, evaluation, and adjust designs in collaboration with the lab team.
- Be involved in problem-solving even after construction, not just in CAD.
- The smaller team gives you great responsibility, while you are part of a larger organization with broad competence and clear structures.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who is an engaged, curious, and unpretentious Mechanical Engineer. You thrive in an environment where people work closely together in smaller teams, dare to engage in technical discussions, drive solutions, and help each other by utilizing each other's competencies.
You are motivated by:
- Taking responsibility for the whole, not just your own detail.
- Seeing your designs become real, tested, and used.
- Working in a context with clear product and customer benefit.
Qualifications for the position:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent competence.
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Good knowledge of Catia V5.
- Experience in sheet metal and/or plastic design.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing.
- Category B driver's license.
Merits for the position:
- Experience with Teamcenter.
- Experience with requirement and tolerance setting.
- Work in cross-functional development teams.
- Practical mechanical interest.

- Large, complex products with many disciplines and components.
- Opportunity to grow, take more responsibility, and influence over time.
